The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold a virtual public statement hearing on September 25, 2025 regarding Riverside Solar’s petition for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity pursuant to §68 of the Public Service Law. The Certificate would authorize Riverside to construct and operate the Riverside Solar Project, an up to 100 megawatts solar electric generating facility. The Project will be in the Towns of Lyme and Brownville, Jefferson County, New York.
The petition also requests that the Commission determine that Riverside is a wholesale electric generator that is entitled to a lightened regulatory regime for safe, adequate, and reliable service. If granted, the Certificate will ensure that Riverside is properly registered to do business in New York, has obtained consent of the appropriate municipalities, and is financially capable to proceed with the Project.
